Description:

The FCC Speed Test app is an essential component of both the FCC's Broadband Data Collection (BDC) and the Measuring Broadband America programs. Through the BDC tests conducted by users, the app significantly enhances the accuracy of the FCC's mobile coverage areas depicted on the broadband maps. Similarly, the Measuring Broadband America program contributes to improving the transparency, accuracy, and availability of data regarding broadband service performance in the United States.

 <li>App Options:</li>
 <li>Conduct tests in Speed Test mode to assess your connection or in Challenge mode to advance wireless coverage and refine the FCC's Broadband Map.</li>
 <li>Monitor your data usage and establish a monthly data usage cap to manage potential exceeding of data limits in your monthly data plan.</li>
 <li>Preserve test results to compare and track them over time.</li>
 <li>Export a .zip file that encompasses data collected during tests, as well as supplementary passive data supported by your device.</li>

Before You Install:
Prior versions of this app will be supplanted by the new FCC Speed Test app. If you previously installed any version and desire to retain data acquired from those earlier iterations, it is necessary to export the data to your device or have it emailed to you. Upon installing the new FCC Speed Test app version, all previous test results will be irrevocably erased.
Privacy:
We prioritize safeguarding your privacy and provide you with the option to opt-in for sharing information with specific parties. For additional details, kindly refer to the Privacy Notice or download the app.
The app may share contact information with your service provider to facilitate the FCC in constructing more precise mobile broadband coverage maps. Additionally, information on the conditions under which the tests were conducted may also be shared.
